Residential duct design sizes the trunks and branches so each room gets the airflow the heat loss calls for. Then it places supply registers and return grilles where they work. You get a duct layout drawn on your floor plans, ready for the permit and the installer. It is for builders, HVAC contractors and homeowners in Calgary and across Alberta. Most single-family designs take 3 to 5 business days.

Scope: houses, duplexes and townhomes under Part 9 of the building code, including infills, custom homes, major renovations, secondary suites and basement developments. We do not design commercial (Part 3) buildings.

FAQ
Common questions about duct design
Do I need a heat loss calculation before duct design?
Yes. Duct sizes come from room airflow, and room airflow comes from the heat loss and heat gain. Most clients order both together.
Can you design ducts for a heat pump?
Yes. Heat pumps deliver air at a lower temperature than a furnace, so they often need more airflow. We size the ducts for that airflow so the heat pump can deliver its rated output.
Do you design for renovations and basement developments?
Yes. We extend or rework the existing duct system and tell you whether the current equipment can carry the new space.
